Why my region is involved in R4R?
- Strong historic presence of the agricultural and chemical industry;
- 30% of current jobs within the region are directly related to the process industry with an opportunity of 2.500 new jobs to be created in the next decade;
- To be among the top 3 European areas in the field of bio based economy with a focus on “agro-meets-chemistry”;
- Capacity to enhance the links between chemical industries coming from European regions while understanding chemical regions’ organizational and priority topics.
Resource efficiency in practice in my region
- Fosters a unique environment where agriculture and chemical industry work together;
- Mobilising both Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and large scale industries from agricultural, technology providers and chemical industries;
- A unconventional strategy on agriculture and chemistry targeting green feed stocks (aqua and lands), resource efficient process industry and new green building blocks for the chemical industries.
Key benefits for Europe
- Share knowledge and good practices to strengthen European bio based economy;
- Work with relevant actors such as SusChem and Cefic to shape Horizon 2020 agenda.
